After a year long cryptologic rabbit hole, spring has sprung.
Akon City itself still only exists as ultra-utopian panafrican architectural renderings online, promoting a dream. Its currency whitepaper was longer than any daily newspaper, from Tallinn to Tblisi, San Diego to Stockholm; Twitter handles and .ENS domains more accurately portraying the #vibes than any book, canvas, or leaflet.
What about the screenshots, the digital surfaces, the highly energetic visual euphoria recieved through perception, the mångfald, the lost IG stories videos, the blå-linjen-three-dimensional narratives? How do they step forward to co-exist in a parallel dimension along the artworld and the internet as we know it; web2023?
How do we capture the immense speed and capacity of which things circulate from peer-2-persona today? By BUIDLing and crazily adding onto the Ethereum eco system, artistic values are created, and in the best of worlds, they transform into real economic values, at least attempting, to not have to resign to a job at the McDonken of misery.
Any text attempting to portray these major current shifts, quickly turn into a Sarah Jessica Parker SATC meme, forever self-centered´ly musing on “What about World War Me?”.
ROYA means “dream” or a “hazy desert vision” in Persian, and is a new Swedish NFT marketplace, an experimental startup crypto venture, driven by the idea of solidarity. Tre Kronor decided to co-join curatorially, sending the latest deranged inspirational JPEGs in the WhatsApp chat to the Afrooz founders, generally desiring a “the more quality and originality the merrier” benchmark mentality.
Thus, the first artist space exhibition on the blockchain in Sweden, presenting its current iteration of five commissioned artists. “Any goats found on these premises will be curried.” 🤑
